FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring?

Wear something comfortable that you can move around freely in, like jogging bottoms and a T-shirt. If you have a yoga mat, you can bring that along too. For the sitting and laying practices, a sweatshirt or small blanket is helpful to keep warm.

Are the classes suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. You don’t need any experience whatsoever, either for the mindfulness or the yoga. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace.

Are you qualified?

Mike and Yvonne have been practising yoga, mindfulness and meditation of various traditions for over 30 years. Mike trained with Bangor University’s Centre of Mindfulness Research and Practice, while Yvonne trained with the British Wheel of Yoga.
Both continue to deepen their own training and personal practice.

I’ve tried meditation before and couldn’t empty my mind. Will this be a problem?

In this style of working, you’ll come to realise that trying to empty your mind can be counter-productive. Our minds are naturally busy and chaotic. Accepting and working with this si part of being mindful. The yoga practice will naturally help to quieten your mind, and the mindfulness will help direct your attention to where it’s most helpful.
